Ophthalmology Department

The department started the services since the inauguration of the clinic as a section of the clinic, which is a separate section in the name of the Department of Ophthalmology, and at the beginning of its opening it relied on foreign expertise on local experiences trained in the most prestigious universities in Canada and Britain.

The department was distinguished by providing the following services:

  1. Retinal imaging.
  2. Dye fundus visualization.
  3. Ultrasound examination.
  4. Visual field examination.
  5. Eye fundus examination.
  6. Spectacle detection.
  7. Computerized corneal surface imaging.
  8. Cataract operations.
  9. Ultrasound, corneal grafts.
  10. Retinal separations and vitreous removal.

The objectives of the department:

To raise the scientific and practical level of this edifice in terms of giving the necessary treatment for common eye diseases and methods of treating them, treating patients and performing surgeries, as the sanatorium department seeks to develop the department, to reach the desired final goal which is to provide a distinguished service in eye departments in hospitals. The department has devoted some of its outpatient clinics to care for blue water and white water diseases, network diseases, vitreous body parts, medical, pediatric ophthalmology, strabismus, corneal diseases, in addition to un-allocated clinics.
